Private Wealth Advisor
Career in Financial Planning
Aaron is a Private Wealth Advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) Professional at AWM Capital. After a career as a professional golfer, he entered the financial services industry with aspirations of changing the way athletes receive financial advice. A lifelong athlete, he enjoys being the financial “coach” to his clients.
Aaron has a unique understanding of how financial education can impact athletes.
Throughout his collegiate and professional golf career, he saw first-hand how many athletes lack financial education, leaving them to put faith in an advisor who does not understand the complexities and opportunities that being a professional athlete provides.
Combining his athletic and professional experiences, Aaron is able to apply an athlete’s perspective with the advanced planning knowledge needed to protect and grow a client’s wealth to its full potential.
Being a professional athlete takes determination, focus, and a desire to be the best - principles that Aaron applies towards helping his clients optimize their financial world so that they may focus on what they do best: reaching the pinnacle of their sport, growing their business, or maximizing their family wealth and impact.
Former Professional Athlete
Born and raised in San Diego, Aaron attended San Diego State University where he was a two-time All-American and a three-year captain while earning his Bachelor of Science in Finance.
He represented the United States at the World University Games in 2007 and in the Palmer Cup in 2008. As a professional, he was the PGA Tour Canada Player of the Year in 2010, played five seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour, and played numerous events on the PGA Tour. A back injury ended his professional golf career and vaulted him into his new passion for financial planning.
Personal Life
Aaron lives in Encinitas, Calif. with his wife Taylor, son Carter, and yellow lab rescue Sunny. He enjoys a good cup of coffee, playing golf, and spending time at the beach or in the mountains with family and friends.
